110/376 - Farmhouse and Bluebonnets

Bluebonnets and Farm House
“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it”     ~Confucius
I saw this shot on flickr and found out that it's just a few miles north of my house so I went out looking for it. Sure enough when I ran across a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road and a bunch of people with cameras pressed to their eye I knew I had found it. So, this will probably never be a "rare" picture but it's a beauty to me.

109/376 - Hibiscus

“Just living is not enough... One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.”     ~Hans Christian Andersen
I have this hibiscus plant in my backyard. Though not "traditional" colors I really like this one. Plus it's prolific - there seems to be a new flower almost daily.

108/376 - More Flowers

“The best friend will probably acquire the best wife, because a good marriage is founded on the talent for friendship”     ~Friedrich Nietzsche
Probably not the best picture I've ever taken but for some reason I really like this.

107/376 - Still Life

Fruits, Vegitables and Flowers
“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”     ~Michelangelo
I've got a few minutes and am trying to catch up. I've got several pictures backlogged and will try to post many of them over the weekend. Is it apparent I've given up on posting/taking one picture a day? I'm still shooting for 365 pictures during the year though. I figure with what I already have and my summer availability I should be able to reach that goal.

B-52s Concert

This was my view at the B-52's concert tonight. It did get better once the band started playing...we stood up through the entire show. However, while the warm-up band (The Krayolas) played, this guy and his wife kept playing with their iPhones using Facebook and trying to take pictures of themselves. At one point I suggested that as they took a picture Diane should lean over their shoulder and make a face. She thought that idea was hilarious. She was less enthusiastic when I also suggested when they go to take a pic she "flash" them behind their backs.

Anyhow, we had a nice time and are now very tired from standing/dancing for 2 hours. Oh, and I wasn't the oldest person there. By a long shot. In fact many of the guys were bald headed and well in their 40's and 50's. I was amused by that.

106/376 - Morning Coffee

Coffee time at the camp
“Camping is nature's way of promoting the motel business.”     ~Dave Barry
It's amazing how many men can huddle around a coffee pot after a long night of torrential rain and wind.

105/376 - Fishing

“Last year I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He was using a dotted line. He caught every other fish.”     ~Steven Wright
Yes! I'm back. It's been a crazy month with work and weekend activities. I have several pictures but will probably only post a couple a day until I get caught up.

I recently went on a camping trip with the Squires and came across this fisherman. We camped at Lost Maples State Park. If you haven't been there I suggest you check it out. It's a very nice park. In the fall when the maple trees change colors it's very popular but it seems to be pretty all the time.
