104/376 - Oranges, Grapes and Flowers

Oranges, Grapes and Flowers
“Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.”     ~Angela Monet

103/376 - Flower 2

Flower 2
“Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made and forgot to put a soul into.”     ~Henry Ward Beecher
____________________
Another spikey flower. These are really cool. Can someone PLEASE figure what it is?

102/376 - Flower

Flower
“I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.”     ~Oscar Wilde

I wish I knew what this flower is called. It's pretty cool though.

101/376 - Desmond

Desmond
“My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.”     ~Henry Ford
____________________
No sooner had Arthur moved when Desmond jumped up on the chair and started posing. I love my cat!

100/376 - Arthur

Arthur II
“Time spent with cats is never wasted.”     ~Sigmund Freud
____________________
I'd like to think that Arthur is not looking forward to the rapidly approaching day when his daddy moves him to the new house. But I'm probably wrong. Even though this picture doesn't show it, he can be a bit grumpy and downright mean at times. We still like him!

99/376 - Horses in Bluebonnets

Horses and Bluebonnets
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”     ~Herman Cain
____________________
More horses and bluebonnets. I am so glad I stumbled upon this spot. If the weather clears I'm going to head out 281 and look for more.

98/376 - Backyard White Rose

Backyard Rose
“For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.”     ~Ivan Panin
____________________
More from the wild rose bush out back. I took this last week before the weather started changing for the worse.

97/376 - Bluebonnets and Horse

Horse in bluebonnets
“You don't necessarily have to be in love with this weather to get through it well. It's about attitude. Instead of seeing a gray sky and thinking gray equals bleak and sad and depressing, try something else. Try, when the skies are gray, there's a somber beauty to the landscape. Put a positive spin on it.”     ~Dan Weiner
____________________
The weather here, today, is very bleak. It's been raining for a few days now and today we've already had a couple of "gully washers" with more on the way. But 2 weeks ago, it was beautiful and the bluebonnets were gorgeous on the road to Poteet.

96/376 - Spring Leaf

Leaf
“Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain.”     ~Henry David Thoreau

It's amazing what you find when you look.

95/376 - Way too cute

Too Cute
“Cute is when a person's personality shines through their looks. Like in the way they walk, every time you see them you just want to run up and hug them.”          ~Unknown

What can I say?

94/376 - "Danger Will Robinson, danger!"

Egg Hunt
“I refuse to stand by while our democracy is trampled by politicians more concerned about amassing power than helping the people who sent them to Washington in the first place.”          ~Senator John Kerry

I'm afraid this man doesn't truly understand the danger he is in!

93/376 - "That bunny has a mean streak a mile wide"

Easter Bunny
“And if the Easter Bunny had wings, he would fly.”          ~John Reeves
____________________
Someone should tell the Easter bunny that it's not nice to laugh behind someone's back!

This guy has been doing this gig since our Knights council started the Easter Egg Hunt. I think he might enjoy it a little too much. I'm just saying'.

92/376 - Waiting for the hunt

Girl with banana
“I've got an enormous number of ideas and I can't wait to begin.”          ~Jonathan Mills
____________________
There's nothing like snacking on a banana while you wait for the Easter egg hunt.

91/376 - Texas Bluebonnet

Bluebonnet
“Oh, heart, if one should say to you that the soul perishes like the body, answer that the flower withers, but the seed remains.”          ~Kahlil Gibran
____________________
I swore that this year I was going to get a good picture of a bluebonnet. I think I succeeded. Since they are rolling up northward I expect to have at least two more weeks to take some pictures. Expect to see quite a few bluebonnets and other wild flowers over the next couple of weeks.

The quote is from one of my favorite authors. If you've not read anything from Kahlil Gibran, I suggest you do so. Right now!

90/376 - White Rose

Rose
“If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I'd be picking roses for a lifetime.”          ~Swedish Proverb
____________________
This rose bush in the back yard refuses to die. We really neglected the plants last summer during the drought and yet this thing just keeps hanging on. And as ugly as the plant is, the fragrance these things put off is heavenly.

89/376 - Twine

Twine 2
“I remember as a kid being cold a lot, and hungry sometimes. We'd go to bed with just cornbread and milk, and I remember wearing shoes with holes in the bottom. I remember having twine for shoestrings.”          ~Buck Owens

Working on my flash skills and trying to make the texture pop. If you look at my flicker account you'll see another version but I think I like this one best.

88/376 - Can you guess who's happy at my house?

Easter Shoes
"The time has come," the walrus said, "to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages and kings”
           ~Lewis Carroll

She says they are $111 shoes and she paid $35 (plus free shipping!). It's hard to get annoyed when you're saving that kind of money. But, knowing she can order shoes online...now that scares me!

Are you aware of how many quotes there are about shoes? Some were a scream but since this is a family blog I chose not to post them here. If you are really interested, however, try clicking this link by Henry Lewis Mencken or this one by George Harrison.
